Pond Update #5

One of the 12 fish died today.  Not sure why, I tested the water and all the chemicals seemed ok.  Maybe he was the weak link and never got any of the food?  The rest of the fish seem to be in good shape.

Pond Update #4

We have had the goldfish in the pond for a week now and none of them have gone belly up.  The water has all cleared up now and it's really starting to look like a real pond.  The dogs still like putting their faces in the water but they don't bother the fish any.  The plants don't look very vibrant but they are both still alive.  Soon we should be getting the koi from my dad.

Pond Update #3

Our pond got very muddy after the last rain so we got some Aluminum sulfate today to settle out the muddy cloudiness.  Also, we got a dozen feeder goldfish and 2 plants.  The fish are afraid of people, but if you stand back they swim to the surface.  The dogs like to try to eat the fish food out of the water.  It looks really funny and they blow bubbles in the water.

Broken Netgear Router

Today the wifi part of our netgear router broke. I can still go on the internet via Ethernet cable but that's no fun. I think we are going to upgrade to the apple router since this netgear router has bit the dust.

Busch Gardens

We got season passes to Busch Gardens yesterday for the next 2 years. I love Busch Gardens. If you buy this season pass its only like 6 dollars and some change each month and you get free parking and 10% off food and stuff. We love going to Busch Gardens and this is gunna save us a bunch of money. If you also love Busch Gardens you should get the 2 year pass instead of the fun pass, it is totally worth it.

San Antonio Sams . . . Vegan?

We went to San Antonio Sams in Norfolk, Va last night and that have a seperate vegan menu. There was at least 20 items on it. I got the Vegan Chicken Fajitas and I must say the vegan chicken actually tasted better than normal chicken. Ghent is becoming a vegan paradise lately.

Pond Update #2

We installed the pond pump this weekend. Now the waterfall is going all the time and it looks really cool and is very relaxing. We are trying to get the water ready to add the fish now. We also need to bury the power cable and maybe someday get a solar pump instead.

Pond Update

We are getting the pond pump from my dad tomorrow and installing it this weekend. So hopefully we will have some fish in our pond next week. We got some solar LED lights to light up the waterfall, which I think will look really cool.

A few words about our worm factory

We bought a worm factory composting bin last summer. It is really great for composting all your organic matter. Don't put eggshells in there even though they say you can, the worms never eat them for some reason. Also I put paper from our paper shredder in there often and they seem to love that. That is going one step further than shredding. They were in 100 degree heat and below freezing temperatures also which they say can not happen and not a one of them died. So it is pretty fool proof if you ask me. You are supposed to put it inside but I keep it in the detached garage because it smells like garbage (As it should). All in all I would recommend one.

Weekend Accomplishments

We got a ton of things done this weekend.
Installed the Pond.
Got a mouse trap (no kill)
Got the huge tree branch off the roof.
Planted seeds for the garden (about 150)
Got and installed new window wipers for the Honda Civic. The rain-x latitude do actually work way better than the cheap ones I normally buy.
Installed the missing ballast resistor wire from my ignition on the Scout.
Soldered a friend's broken keyboard adapter input.

There was just no resting this weekend.

Installing the Pond

We decided we are going to finish installing the pond in our backyard this weekend. We started digging in January but it was just too cold. It is a gigantic 2 tier pond with a waterfall. We are going to put fish in it, maybe small koi or catfish, not sure yet.

The 2010 Census Is Not constitutional

Why does the government need to know more than how many people live in an area? Why do they need to know race and home ownership and relationship status. Maybe it will be to persecute immigrants when WWIII breaks out. I mean that's what happened in WWII. They used census records to find Japanese immigrants an put them in interment camps. Or maybe they will prosecute same sex couples with the data... anyway they use it its unconstitutional not to mention a huge waste of money that this country doesn't even have to waste. the census should be one question. How many people live in this household at this address and that is it.

Starting to post Pro Tools Videos

I am going to start recording and posting videos to go along with my pro tools articles. I am going to voice them over in my home recording studio. I think because my videos will not be home movie quality and I am going to edit them professionally that this will put me ahead of all the crap expert village puts out. I hope this will increase my views with google also for my articles and even make me a few extra dollars.
